Real Play

Active, healthy children achieve more - This is the motto for Real Play sessions at Luton Libraries.
 
In celebration of this year's Summer Reading Challenge theme, Read to the Beat, Real Play encourages families with children aged 5–7 to play, move and learn together through stories, creative activities and mini challenges. From themed stories and games such as Popping Pirates and board games to ball games, movement activities and fun challenges, parents and carers will be getting just as involved and competitive as the children in these energetic sessions. 

 

Times

There’s no need to pre-book for these activity sessions and they are completely free. Just pop by.

 

Central Library

Tuesday: 2:00 – 2:30 (From the 21st July 2026)

 

Marsh Farm Library

Wednesday 2:00 – 2:30 (from the 22nd July 2026)

 

Leagrave Library

Wednesday: 4:00pm – 4:30pm

 

If you enjoy these sessions, you can also borrow Real Play boxes from any Luton Library so the fun can continue at home. Each home pack includes a physical activity board game, adventure and activity books, sports equipment, including 3 balls and 3 cones, and Mini Challenge Cards with over 100 progressive challenges.
